Fenomena Pintu Neraka ini berada di negara Asia Tengah , Uzbekistan… Oleh penduduk setempat lubang ini dijuluki sebagai “Pintu Neraka”. Terletak berdekatan dengan sebuah bandar kecil bernama Darvaz. Kisah ini bermula kira-kira 35 tahun yg lampau. Ketika ahli geologis menggali tempat ini untuk mencari gas bumi. Secara tiba-tiba saat penggalian tersebut, mereka menenemkan sebuah lubang besar di bawah tanah. karena terlalu besar sehingga semua peralatan penggalian tersebut telah masuk ke dalam jurang tersebut. Tak ada yang berani turun ke dalam jurang tersebut karena dipenuhi gas yang beracun . Untuk menghindari gas beracun tersebut naik kepermukaan bumi nyalakan api di dalam jurang tersebut dan sejak saat itu sehingga kini 35 tahun lubang ini terus terbakar.
