Bismillahi wal hamdulillah,

Kami tidak menjumpai saranan dari Rasulullah saw supaya menutup cermin-cermin muka ketika terdapatnya jenazah dalam rumah tersebut. Apa yang kami temui ialah ianya merupakan amalan orang tua-tua dahulu yang beranggapan bahawa, cermin hanya digunakan oleh Si Mati ketika hidupnya sahaja. Apabila telah mati, cermin tersebut tidak berguna lagi kerana mengikut Kepercayaan Kuno Masyarakat Hindu, roh atau hantu tidak boleh melihat dirinya dalam cermin.

Maka untuk menjaga hati dan perasaan serta bagi menghormati roh tersebut, setiap cermin muka dirumah simati tersebut perlulah ditutup. Perbuatan tersebut mengikut syarak adalah dilarang kerana ianya adalah perbuatan yang tidak dilakukan oleh Rasulullah saw serta dianggap sebagai satu perbuatan khurafat yang menyalahi syarak.
